Celebrate the 175th Anniversary of Oxford Royal Regatta

This year, Oxford City Royal Regatta celebrates its 175th year. The prestigious regatta has been running consistently on the Isis river since 1841 with only occasional breaks due to war.

We expect this to be one of our biggest events ever, with around 600 crews competing over the regatta weekend and thousands of spectators joining us both at our clubhouse and at the regatta village site at Longbridges, located next to the Finish for both the 1000M and 500M courses.

Taking place on 20th and 21st August 2016, the regatta features a full programme of British Rowing open events with highly competitive racing for men, women, juniors, mixed crews, and adaptives.

Entries are open on BROE now and close at 6pm on 10th August. We are always oversubscribed for many categories so please enter early and ensure your entries are paid in full before the deadline.

Competition for Eights

Eights are particularly welcome and we expect to see very good competition for eights at all levels including Elite, IM2, IM3, and Novice.

Sprint Eights Challenge Cup – Win Quart Pots!

All eights entered in the regatta will be invited to participate in the Sprint Eights Challenge Cup, a lunchtime sprint event for Men, Women, and Mixed crews which takes place on Saturday and Sunday lunchtimes. Quart Pots are awarded to the winning crews in each category.

I hope you will be able to join us for this year’s regatta.

Further information and full list of all events offered is available on our website at: http://www.oxfordrowingclub.org.uk/rowing-events/

With best wishes,

David Reid
