S Coxes and requests for help

| Looking at the growing number of cox requests, if the river really does go Vindaloo/Pfhal (aside - glad to see Andy's river categories survived) then coxes are going to be critical to allowing Torpids to proceed. Personally I don't do any of my rowing stuff for pecuniary remuneration, and I would like to think that others might be similarly generous. I'd like to propose that if needed, S coxes should form a cartel ensuring that all boats have access to someone to steer, ie a volunteer is needed to co-ordinate available coxes and needy crews. If not - once all the Wadham crews are appropriately staffed then I'm willing to help if anyone is so desperate as to haul my sorry (fat) arse down (ooops - up - sorry Rachel) the course.... | |

| Dear All, I agree that if Torpids is run under S coxes only, most boat clubs are going to have a serious problem. As an experienced cox who would be ineligible to race (but who, as ECBC president has nevertheless written off next week to achieve anything else) I would be happy and willing to organise placement of senior coxes who are willing and able to race amongst crews who needed them. If this is something that captains would like to be done, please let me know - a few replies on here will be enough - and i will start organising asap - I don't think we can afford to wait until the S cox call is made, but rather need to have some plans in place just in case. I don't mean to step on the toes of race committees - rather i imagine they have enough on their plate! Jess Houlgrave 07725 369228 Jess. | |
