Are any other coxes finding the part-submerged tree in the gut particularly annoying. It makes it even more difficult to steer a good line upstream and the temptation is simply to stay in the middle of the river, which of course makes a collision much more likely in the narrowest part of the gut. It's even worse in a coxless boat.

I am not sure who's responsibility it is to clear the river, but I would have thought there are fairly strong safety reasons for having this one attended to.

It is annoying, if i can get a hand i'll see what can be done after IWL this weekend.

As for the line, there is still enough room for two crews, although there is zero margin for error. In the coxless boats the thing is to tuck back in right afterwards and immediately begin your turn to exit the gut tightly onto the green-bank.
