Change R12c from:
Below the red and white post on Haystacks Corner but crews may not paddle further than the post other than to
manoeuvre for spinning. The stretch between OBUBC boathouse and the lock is to be kept clear whenever
possible and not used for coaching.
To:
Below the red and white post on Haystacks Corner but crews may not paddle further than the post other than to
manoeuvre for spinning and must stay above the white Isis Boathouse post. The stretch between Isis
boathouse and the lock is to be kept clear whenever possible and not used for coaching. Crews racked at the
Isis boathouse may use the area just below the IBH post to boat or land only but are recommended in blue or
amber flag to spin above the post and 'drift or back down to land.)

This 1 boat restriction does not apply to single sculls.

Add on the end of B6:
"B6.5
Crews withdrawing after the Start Order is finalised, or failing to boat for their race are withdrawn from the
competition and not reinserted the following year. Crews in the division are moved up one place and a bungline
left empty at the bottom of the division for the day's racing. In the Start Order for the following day all other
crews are moved up one place and the fastest crew failing to Row On shall be invited to start at the bottom of
the lowest division.
B6.6
The race committee may decide to allow a crew to withdraw for one day of racing.
a) In Eights, one crew behind will gain a bump by rowing clean past the withdrawn crew's bungline.
b) In Torpids, the crew may be reinserted the following day a number of places lower by the discretion of the
race committee based on the reasons for withdrawal. Other crews in the division are moved up one place and a
bungline left empty at the bottom of the division for the day's racing."

During fast stream conditions, special rules are in force on the Godstow stretch, as indicated
on the OURCs website (’The Godstow Flag’):
1. Red Flag (4 bucks): Godstow stretch closed to all crews. Navigation of Osney Lock
prohibited.
2. Amber Flag (3 bucks): Godstow closed to all College crews except Senior Crews as
defined in R7. River closed below Rainbow Bridge. Navigation of Osney Lock prohibited.
To:
1. Red Flag (2 bucks at Godstow or 4 bucks at Osney lock or at the discretion of the St
Edmund’s School Boatman): Godstow stretch closed to all crews. Navigation of Osney Lock
prohibited.
2. Amber Flag (1½ bucks at Godstow lock or 3 bucks at Osney lock or at the discretion of the
St Edmund’s School Boatman): Godstow closed to all College crews except Senior Crews as
defined in R7. River closed below Rainbow Bridge. Navigation of Osney Lock prohibited.

Change C6.1 from:
“Within these rules, members of College X shall be restricted to those in possession of a
valid University ID card listing affiliation to College X and a status of one of: Undergraduate,
Postgraduate, Visiting Student, Associate Students, Staff or Congregation; with such status
to be deemed to have terminated prior to the card expiry date in the event of:
1) The subject leaving or suspending their course of study; or
2) The publication of a pass list or class list marking the end of the course; or
3) The granting of leave to supplicate for the degree “
To:
1.1 Members of college boat clubs are restricted to bona fide students (in
accordance with University Statute II) of said college
1.2 until such a time as:
• The subject leaving or suspending their course of study; or
• The publication of a pass list or class list marking the end of the course; or
• The granting of leave to supplicate for the degree
1.3 plus those allowed under C6.2,3,4,5 and 6.
Remove C6.3, renumber the subsequent clauses.
Add to C6.4:
“Subject who is a member of the Congregation or University staff AND with a proven
membership of X college – Typically allowed.”
Remove C6.6 so it becomes a part of C6.4
Renumber C6.8 to C6.4.1 and C6.7 to C6.5
Add C6.6:
“Other members of the University who are congregation or Staff employed by the college
are entitled to membership of the College Boat club but will not normally be allowed to row
in their college 1st Eight or Torpid unless otherwise agreed by a Captain’s meeting.

Change O1 from:
“Permission must be sought for the event to happen from the Proctors and Environment
Agency at least four weeks before the events.”
To:
“permission must be sought for the event to happen from the Proctors at least four weeks
before the events. Organisers must arrange to meet or liaise with the Environment agency
regarding their event plan at least six weeks before the event.”
Add O2.2
“For regattas on a Saturday, the OURCs river closure for college and University crews must
start from an hour before sunrise out of courtesy to other rivers users, to allow them the use
of the river prior to the regatta start time.”
Add O4.2
“Organisers are not permitted to start their regatta earlier than the original published start
time, out of courtesy to other river users.”

Capsize drills
“All individuals using a 1x, 2x, 2- must have passed a Capsize Drill conducted by an ARA
qualified instructor under ARA guidelines.”
To:
“All individuals using a 1x, 2x, 2- must have passed a Capsize Drill conducted by an ARA
qualified instructor under ARA guidelines or by someone trained in running capsize drills
under ARA guidelines by an ARA qualified instructor and approved by the University Area
Safety Officer

Swim tests
change R4.1 from:
“All crew members shall have satisfied the College Boat Club’s appointed Senior Member
that they are in good health and can swim a minimum of 100 m in light clothing (WSC/16).”
To:
“All crew members shall have satisfied the College Boat Club’s appointed Senior Member
that they are in good health and can swim a minimum of 50m in light clothing and
demonstrate competence underwater. Rowers or coxes who fail their swimtest will be
permitted to be on the river provided they are wearing an auto-inflate life jacket rated 100N
or higher and are with a coach with appropriate rescue equipment.”
