Subject: ChCh Regatta Cancelled Tomorrow
Dear All,
After consultation (via Laurence) with the EA and lock keepers, it has
been decided to cancel racing tomorrow due to the stream conditions.
Although the river is low the stream is very fast and novice crews are
almost certain to face serious difficulties and dangers. It is also
forecast to rain more this evening and tomorrow, obviating any chance
of a change in flag status.
In accordance with the rules, 50% of all entry fees shall be refunded
as we had only one day's racing. Unfortunately our Senior Member is
not in Oxford at the moment so we ask for your patience in sending out
cheques.
On behalf of the Regatta Committee, I would like to extend our thanks
to everyone who helped us organise the event and gave us advice along
the way. Also to the captains, who have all been extremely courteous
and patient when we have made mistakes.
We wish every club the best of luck in preparations for Torpids.
