This Wednesday night is the pre-bumps coxing meeting. Please would college=
s note the following:

1] - As Matt has already put out, no novice coxes who registered for the fi=
rst time this term should be coxing in Eights or rowing-on. They are welcom=
e to come to the meeting but that will not qualify them to take part at all=
.

2] - It is still possible that other novice coxes (eg those with 1-2 terms =
experience) may not be able to do rowing-on: that depends on the river's r=
eaction to rain over the next couple of days. Please have non-N coxes avai=
lable for all your crews for Friday, just in case. If N coxes do end up be=
ing disallowed for Friday, then FOR THAT DAY ONLY coxes can steer two crews=
if need be. That will not carry over into Eights week itself unless there=
 are further restrictions.

3] - There is a small mistake on the front page of the OURCs website. PLEA=
SE BRING COXING CARDS TO THE MEETING (and see my previous email about those=
). Those attending should ONLY bring Bod cards if they cannot produce a co=
xing card. It is VERY TIME-CONSUMING to deal with bod cards at the meeting=
, so kindly make every effort to find your coxing card and use that instead=
.

4] - We need everyone expecting to cox in Eights 2012 to attend on Wednesda=
y night, unless they have previously had permission to miss it given by Mat=
t Maton-Howarth, the OURCs Captain of Coxes, or a genuine provable emergenc=
y prevents them from doing so, in which case he will give instructions for =
alternative arrangements. With the lack of water time and potentially diff=
icult conditions if the river rises again, it is crucial that we know every=
one taking part in racing has been properly briefed.

We will discuss options of various river/coxing scenarios at the meeting.

Thanks,

RQ.
