Sabbatical Officer- Tom Coles (Jesus)

Position:
The Rowing Sabbatical Officer (RowSab) provides administrative support for all members of OURCs, and acts as safety adviser for college and university rowing. The RowSab post is usually taken by a recent student. Applications will be invited in February-March and shortlisted by an interview with COUR members in April, before being voted on at a captains' meeting early in Trinity term.

Personal:
Tom began coxing in school (when he was much smaller) before joining Jesus as an undergraduate and falling in love with bumps racing. Having finished his Classics degree, he now has more time to devote to his true loves: rowing, paperwork, and rowing paperwork. When not at the river or in the office he can usually be found with a cup of tea or a glass of cider, working his way through his Netflix list.

 

Secretary- William Frost (St Benet's)

Position:
The OURCs Secretary heads up the OURCs Committee and takes overall responsibility for OURCs operations and events, aided by the committee. Contact about: Regatta questions - the Secretary will normally be the Race Secretary for our regattas and so entry questions and draw queries General organisation queries from possible rule changes, things we could be doing better or differently.

Personal:
Will started rowing at Westminster back in 2009, and now going into his eighth year thinks maybe tennis could have been the sport for him... Often [rarely - ed.] seen doing classics in the Bod, occasionally seen down by the river, and once rumoured to have been seen going for a run, he is more than happy to chat about all things rowing and other should he have the pleasure of your company.

Position:
The Treasurer is in charge of the finances of OURCs and is in charge of the fine system. Fine appeals should be directed to the treasurer. Contact about fine queries and appeals and payment queries.

Personal:
Rumoured to sleep on a bed of cash, Harriet has fingers in various financial pies, including those of Pembroke College Boat Club and Oxford’s finest student newspaper. She took up rowing upon coming to university in MT13, although nowadays is more likely to be found shouting at people from the towpath than in a boat. Currently President of PCBC, Harriet is an avid baker and collector of questionable knitwear, and has a tendency to bang on about long-dead mathematicians.

 

Captain of Coxes- Jameson Lee (Worcester)

Position:
The Captain of Coxes is in charge of all things coxing within the University. They should be contacted with regards to coxing upgrades. Contact about: Any coxing advice or queries Upgrades and status queries

Personal:
Jameson started coxing/sculling/rowing at KCS Wimbledon in 2010 before moving to St. Paul's School in 2013. He now captains Worcester. The leisurely afternoon scull is one of his favourite pastimes when he's not too busy shouting down the microphone at his crew. Can be spotted usually on the river in a bright pink headband (thanks to Worcester's previous equipment officer) or at the engineering department.

Dr Paul Azzopardi is a fellow of Worcester College and Director of Undergraduate Studies for Psychology.

Senior Treasurer- David Locke (Lady Margaret Hall)

Position:
The Senior Treasurer oversees the short term financial conduct and long-term financial stability of OURCs.

Personal:
Having graduated in the early 2000s, David has been a Senior Umpire for some years and has now taken on the role of Senior Treasurer. He can often be found down at the river coaching Corpus women and can spot a cox without a lifejacket at twenty paces.

Personal:
Matt is a rower at Keble, who took up the sport after joining the college in 2014 to do a DPhil in Maths. He joined the OURCs committee in HT 2016.

Personal:
Bernard started rowing and coxing all the way back in 2008. He first joined the OURCs Committee in Michaelmas 2011, and was the RowSab for 2013-14.


He plays an active part assisting with events, often helping with the rotas and can often be found driving one of the safety launches. He maintains the River Restrictions calendar which helps you know when you can boat!

Personal:
Pete is a well-known friendly face around the towpath, having been coaching Regent's Park crews (whose women have dubbed themselves the Bond Girls in his honour) for almost 10 years now. He is also the Senior Member for Regent's Park, and joined the OURCs Committee in MT15.

Personal:
Joe started coxing in MT 2010 while he was at New College and joined Worcester Rowing Club the following Easter (as in Worcester City, rather than Worcester College). After finishing his undergraduate degree in 2013, he moved to Hertford College to read for a DPhil. He has also been involved with OUWLRC, whom he coxed to a bronze medal in the Women's Lightweight Eight at BUCS 2014.





Joe first joined the OURCs committee in TT 2012 and was elected Captain of Coxes in TT 2014 for the 2014-2015 academic year and was re-elected the following year.

Personal:
Alissa began rowing and coxing at Trinity, and is now coxing at CORC in between working full time and a bit of college coaching here and there... Most of her life is spent at the river. If you can't see her you can usually hear her. She says it's because her cox box is stuck on loud, but we think it's short-man syndrome. She is also the happiest person you'll find at Racedesk!
