				<title>Head of the River</title>
				<link></link>
<description>Are there any coxes out there not doing anything this Saturday whod be up for coxing Christ Church men in Head of the River? Their usual cox (me) is snowed under with Finals work (insert string of panicked swear-words here) and family commitments that shed much rather not have to rearrange. Gratitude/alcohol on offer to anyone who can help out, its also a chance to cox on the Tideway for anyone who doesnt get off the upper Thames much. Contact me @chch.ox if you think you can help us out.</description>

				<title>Cox wanted: Saturday am</title>
				<link></link>
<description>Yet another request for a cox - this is for a double outing on Saturday morning in Reading, with CORC (leaving Oxford at 6.45am), coxing their Womens Senior squad.  This is good experience off the Isis for anyone looking for a status change.
They (and I, since Im double-booked and cant help them) will be eternally grateful, probably to the point of buying you breakfast between trips.

				<title>KNOW THE RULES!!!</title>
				<link></link>
<description>On an outing this morning I noticed some fairly important rules being ignored. Being blue flag, it was only X and S coxes out on the river and thus there is NO REASON AT ALL for not knowing the rules. Transgressions I saw this morning were...
(1) A crew out before allowed time - sunrise today was at 7.48, meaning you can be out on ther water from 6.48am. I saw a crew out at least 10 mins early today. Luckily for them it was too dark to see which college.
(2) A crew spinning at Longbridges - Its a new rule, but coxes should still know that you cant do this on blue or amber flag.
(3) A crew spinning WAY below haystacks corner twice - again, under blue or amber flag you must spin between the turn early post, and upstream of the regular spinning post. This is especially the case now that the flags have been changed such that they allow for even higher stream. The crew in question then had the cheek to complain to me that I was spinning in the wrong place. Not impressed.
Coxes, if you dont know them, READ THE RULES. Also, if you have a coach who doesnt know the oxford way of doing things then make them read them too.
I will point out though that this was by no means all crews, just a select few.
Right, rant over.     Tom
